The Ukrainian stock-market has passed through a serious testing.  The mortgage crisis in the US caused a significant outflow of funds from all the emerging markets. After the highest among the European markets growth by 136% during 2007, the PFTS (Ukrainian First Stock-Trading System) index in the last half a year rolled back to the level of February, 2007.

I’d mention that other industries of Ukrainian economy suffered considerably less from all this financial turmoil. Despite a substantial appreciation and deficit of credit funds, Ukrainian GDP in January-June, 2008, raised by 6.3% compared to the same period of the last year (by 8.7% for the year). The biggest growth took place in trade, processing industry, in transport and communications, while first time in 15 years there was marked a decline in the gross added value in construction.

At the same time, the world financial crisis has affected each of us: growth of inflation rates, complication of a crediting procedure, political and ecological crises. A sharp decline in residential sales volumes creates all the preconditions for the fall of residential real estate prices. Quickly rise and then again collapse oil and oil-products prices. The boldest analysts don’t dare forecast, what happens to different currencies rates, precious metals prices and other resources in the nearest future. High deposit rates of attract banks, and at the same time put on alert.
